I happened upon this place after my GPS took my girlfriend and I to an out-of-business sub shop. The interior looked pretty new, and it was quite hot inside, so they had a fan going. We ordered a jerk chicken and a curried chicken. After about 10 min the clerk came out with our jerk chicken and told me they were out of curried chicken, so I asked for barbecue chicken, which they also did not have. So I just ordered another jerk chicken, and we started in sharing the one they had already brought out. I was pleasantly surprised after tasting the chicken, which was actually some of the best jerk chicken I've tasted. It was very juicy and flavorful, and it had just the right amount of spiciness. Their jerk spice mix was really tasty and had strong notes of cinnamon. The chicken was served with rice and beans (which was just delicious when it soaked up some jerk chicken juice), a boring iceberg salad, and some dried out plantains. As is done with most jerk chicken, it was chopped bone-in, so you'll be picking small pieces of bone out of your mouth; maybe not the best for a date. The service was adequate, but they often disappeared for extended periods into the kitchen area. I also had to bug the guy for salad dressing. It was also a bummer that they were out of about 1/3 of the menu items, but I was on the late end of lunchtime, and I think they may have only recently opened. They were also taking cash only. In the end, the chicken made up for it. PROS: Delicious chicken Good rice and beans CONS: Hot inside Few menu items Boring sides Mediocre service
